What does a design and engineering partner for robotics and automation actually do?

A design and engineering partner for robotics and automation is not the same as a general product design firm. The constraints are different: the product lives on a moving vehicle, gets washed down at end of shift, and has to be installed by an operator who has never opened a mechanical assembly. The design language has to communicate that the hardware is serious industrial equipment, not a startup prototype.

We come into robotics programs with that context already built in. We know what mounting patterns forklift OEMs actually use, we know what happens to a plastic housing after six months in a cold-chain warehouse, and we design against that from the first sketch.

Working with Slamcore

Slamcore turns forklifts and AMRs into location-aware assets using vision-based SLAM, no beacons, no infrastructure. Ahead of their Series A they needed a reference sensor and compute unit that customers could hold, mount on a truck, and photograph for the keynote deck.

We delivered a machined aluminum sleeve over reference electronics in two weeks, three iterations, twelve hero shots. The unit shipped to pilot customers, appeared in the launch reel, and the round closed at 27M USD. The case study below walks through how the engagement ran end to end.
